Princess Bride

“A Princess Bride Couture Bridal Salon” is local bridal salon located in Bothell, WA. The Prince Bride branding was a generic script font paired with varying sans-serifs with an accompanying fleur-de-lis symbol. Their color was either white with an ice blue or white with bright red. Their branding was confused and not representative to the quality of service and products that they provide. Despite being voted number one in various local competitions year after year, their branding appeared generic and unrefined.

In order to make their mark more modern, impressive, and memorable, I decided that we needed to go in a completely different direction from what they had. Taking inspiration from the high-end designer brands that they carried in stock, I made a logo that not only would align them to a sense of high fashion and modernity, but set them above their competition.

Princess Bride is… High-end, Classy, Elegant, Couture, Designer, Warm, Personal

Bridal imagery and audience was first researched, following which I began to research their local competitors. Understanding that I needed to make something that delivered the idea of high-end, couture, but approachable, I researched other retail companies that fit that profile, such as Nordstroms, and adjusted my designs in that direction. We finally decided on both a wordmark and a logotype – something that could be used together in a lockup, but also be strong enough to stand on their own. The final result of the Princess Bride branding refresh is classy, elegant, personal and warm.
